Support from Business Leaders

Members of the business community have grown increasingly concerned about the ability of our existing transportation infrastructure to keep commerce moving and efficiently move employees to and from work.

The business community is one of the most vocal proponents for investments in a comprehensive transportation system because it is critical to the continued growth of Minnesota's economy. Individual businesses, business organizations and leaders have helped make the case for Northstar Commuter Rail as a key component of a balanced and efficient transportation system that will help keep our region competitive.

Chambers of commerce and hundreds of individual businesses of the Northstar Corridor support the Northstar project. They've helped carry the message that Northstar is critical to the economic strength of the entire state.

What Business Leaders Say About Northstar

Teresa Bohnen"The St. Cloud business community is expanding, and while the economic centers of our region and the Twin Cities move closer together, congestion makes it more difficult for St. Cloud companies to conduct business in the Twin Cities metro area. We need the ability to move employees and students into St. Cloud, and freer highways will allow our companies to market their goods and services elsewhere. Northstar will provide the efficient and reliable transportation link our region needs to continue our economic growth."

Keith Howe"United Defense can certainly use the benefits of Northstar commuter rail to both attract and keep highly skilled employees. We are only a few blocks from a proposed station, so our employees could have a high quality, reliable means to get to and from work and many of us would take advantage of easy access to the airport for our business travel."
